A Letter from The Federal Govenment to Ontario Municipal Governments
The following letter from the federal government relates to work it is undertaking on identifying broadband coverage across Canada. Please take a few minutes to read it. Contact information about feedback on coverage in your area is contained in the attached posters.

Dear Sir/Madam:
As you know, Canada's Economic Action Plan included $225 million to extend broadband to those households that currently do not have access.
The first step of the Broadband Canada: Connecting Rural Canadians program is to get a clear picture of where broadband services are available, and where they are not. Industry Canada is working with other levels of government and the private sector to define a detailed map of service availability.
We are extending an invitation to all Canadians to take part in this process by telling us more about Internet access where they live or work.
Attached you will find a poster to display in the public area of your office, thereby helping us read as many Canadians as possible. Feedback received will be used for information purposes only in the design of the broad band program, and will not necessarily change the availability of high-speed Internet in your area.
The Government of Canada is working to close the "digital divide" that leaves Canadians living in unserved, and underserved, areas at a disadvantage. Broadband helps Canadians access information and services that might otherwise be out of reach, enabling access to health, financial and government services and distance-learning. Broadband helps Canadians stay connected with family, friends and current events - online activities that many of us can take for granted.
If high-speed Internet service is not available where you live, contact us.
