Community Placement

Community Placement provides participants with the opportunity to build or update skills and gain current work experience.

  • Participants are matched to volunteer placements at non-profit or public sector organizations.
  • Placements provide organizations with the support needed to develop and launch new programs or complete special projects.
  • The participant who is already volunteering in their community can initiate placements or they can be arranged by a Community Placement caseworker.
  • Participants may be eligible to receive financial assistance to cover child care or transportation costs.

Non-profit, community or public sector organizations interested in a Community Placement should contact the Community Placement team at Ontario Works at 519 344-2057.

>> Ontario Works will pre-screen applicants and refer participants.

>> Agencies make the final decision regarding volunteers.

>> Ontario Works will assist with monitoring and provide support as needed.
