Municipal Performance Measurement Program
The Corporation of the County of Lambton
2007 MPMP Results
(Municipal Performance Measurement Program)
The County of Lambton’s 2007 Municipal Performance Measurement Program (MPMP) results and comparison data, where applicable, are summarized in the following document. The MPMP is administered by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MMAH), and was established as part of the Provincial commitment to accountability at all levels of government within their jurisdiction. The goals of the program are to:
- create measures/indicators of efficiency and effectiveness of public services;
- produce information that municipalities can use to make decisions to improve local services;
- strengthen municipal accountability to taxpayers;
- monitor ongoing performance to assist in planning for future commitments;
- evaluate past performance and allow municipalities to share best practices.
Caution must be exercised when comparing results between municipalities and in drawing conclusions about the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery. Differences in geographics, service levels, methods of delivery, unique factors in each municipality which impact service delivery or cost, and different accounting/cost allocation methods must be taken into consideration.
In 2007 the formula for the General Government efficiency measure was changed, thus the 2005 and 2006 numbers have been restated to be consistent with the calculation.
The 2007 MPMP results are available below.
