To ensure your child is ready to tackle their first year of elementary school, the County of Lambton Children’s Services Department offers annual Ready Set Grow...Preschool Checkpoint from winter to spring.
The checkpoints, held throughout the County, are designed to help parents help their children successfully reach the next step. As a parent, there are so many things you need to know, recognize and understand as your child grows. It could be a concern about their speech, language, development, or maybe how to get along better with others before they head off to school in the following years.
The Ready Set Grow...Prechool Checkpoint is a proactive screening that gives parents a sense of what to expect and an opportunity to establish markers of normal ranges, ability and behavior. If there is a concern, the earlier it is recognized and corrected, the better it is for the child, and for the family.
Each checkpoint provides awareness and expert advice on a variety of subjects as they relate to your child:
- Growth and development
- Dental
- Speech and Language
- Behaviour
- Immunization
- Literacy
- Nutrition
