Lambton County, ON – The Medical Officer of Health advises the following update on area beaches that were sampled as of July 16, 2007.
Beaches Sampled on Lake Huron:
Warning signs have been removed from:
Warning signs had been posted here due to recent high levels of E. coli bacteria. There are no beaches posted with warning signs at this time.
While no sampling occurs along the St. Clair River, a caution sign advising high bacterial levels following heavy rainfall has been permanently placed at:
-
Branton Cundick Park
-
Brander Park
It should be noted that following heavy rainfall, the water at area beaches may be temporarily polluted for up to 48 hours. Also, if the water has become cloudy due to wave activity, bacteria from the bottom may become suspended and increase the risk of illness.
Sampling continues and updates will follow as necessary.
