Wyoming, ON – “Going green” has just gotten a little easier at Lambton County libraries.  Now you can eliminate using plastic bags to tote your books by purchasing a book bag, available in two different styles, from your local library.  The foldable zipper bag is available for $1.00.  It zippers up to wallet sized when not in use and easily becomes a full-sized bag when opened.  The Tote bag, available for $5.00, is a heavy duty full-sized bag.

“The County’s Departments have started to look for green initiatives that can be implemented to conduct business in a more environmentally responsible manner,” said Cindy Thayer, General Manager, Community Services.  “These attractive, re-usable bags will be very handy for patrons who make regular stops at any of the County’s 26 libraries.”

The launching of the book bags coincides with Ontario Public Library Week, October 15 to 21.  This year’s theme is “Libraries:  The World at Your Fingertips”, designed to recognize the important contribution Ontario’s public libraries make to education, literacy and lifelong learning.

Lambton County’s 26 libraries provide a variety of FREE services to the public including programming and Internet access.  For more information about Lambton County Library, visit www.lclmg.org.
