Sarnia, ON - A new Best Start Hub at Coronation Park Day Nursery will allow families access to more child care and early learning opportunities.
“This is truly a seamless system for parents,” said Heather Allen, Best Start Coordinator, County of Lambton Children’s Services Department. “Parents can access child care services at Coronation Park Day Nursery for children from birth to age 11, and right next door, they can also access other services such as parenting programs, a Family Drop-In Centre, early literacy specialists and so much more.”
A public Open House is planned for Thursday, October 18th from 3 pm – 7 pm at Coronation Park Day Nursery, 1014 Oak Avenue, Sarnia. “The Open House will allow people opportunities to speak with the staff of both CPDN and the Hub, learn about our JK/SK Wrap child care program which operates from St. Benedict and Queen Elizabeth II Schools and see the newly constructed space,” said Allen.
This is the sixth Best Start Hub to open in Lambton County. Other Hubs are located at: St. Philip School, Petrolia; Ecole Les Rapides, Sarnia; St. Joseph School, Corunna; Kinnwood Central School, Forest; and Riverview Central School, Port Lambton. A seventh Best Start Hub is under development at Brooke Central School and is tentatively scheduled to open in the fall of 2008.
Best Start Hubs are a part of Lambton’s Best Start Program, a provincial initiative that sees the County of Lambton working with community partners - school boards, and child care and children's services providers - to make sure that more children and parents can access a seamless network of early learning and development services and supports in their own communities.
