Wyoming, ON – At its regular meeting on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at 1:15 p.m., Lambton County Council:
- Heard a presentation from Mrs. Norio Vanderheyden who spoke to County Council regarding truck traffic on Lambton County roads.
- Heard a presentation from Mr. Garry McDonald, President of the Sarnia-Lambton Chamber of Commerce, who spoke to County Council concerning the truck study.
- Heard a presentation from Mr. George Mallay, General Manager, Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership, who spoke to County Council about the activities of the office.
- Approved the recruitment of three Caseworkers for the Ontario Works Department on a time-limited basis until March 31, 2011 using 100% provincially funding Enhanced Employment Services funding.
- Accepted a proposal from Ketchum Canada (2002) Inc. in the amount of $234,000 plus GST to undertake a fundraising campaign for a new art gallery in Downtown Sarnia located in the former Sak's Building.
- Authorized staff to negotiate construction financing to a maximum of $8,000,000 for a term of two years for the construction of the new public art gallery.
- Appointed Stéphane Thiffeault as Clerk of The Corporation of the County of Lambton.
- Directed staff to apply to the Ontario Creative Communities Prosperity Fund Program for matching funds to support the development of a Cultural Strategic Plan for the County of Lambton.

- Designated several additional roads as part of the County Road Network including:
- Airport Road from London Line (County Road 22) to Highway 402.
- Michigan Line from Front Street (County Road 33) to Alexandra Avenue.
- Venetian Boulevard from Exmouth Street to Alexandra Avenue.
- Removed a road from the County Road Network:
- Exmouth Street (County Road 22) from London Road to Barclay.
- Noted that Scott Miller, Founder of the Circles Model of Poverty Reduction, will be in Sarnia on Tuesday, October 27, 2009. He will provide a presentation open to the public from 7-9pm at the Sarnia Library Auditorium.
- Noted that the Annual North Lambton Fall Colour and Craft Festival will be taking place on October 17 and 18.
