Sarnia, ON –The County of Lambton Community Health Services Department will open its H1N1 vaccination clinics to provide adjuvanted H1N1 vaccine to anyone who wants to be immunized starting today.

Since immunization clinics began in late October, Community Health Services has provided over 14,000 H1N1 vaccinations to high priority groups through public clinics, and school and day-care visits. Another 8,800 doses have been distributed to the network of family physicians, long-term care homes, and First Nation communities.

The Department just received another 8,000 doses of adjuvanted vaccine this week from the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.

"There is enough vaccine now on hand to offer vaccinations to the entire community," said Dr. Greensmith, Medical Officer of Health for the County of Lambton.  "It is more important to have the vaccines in the arms of community residents than in the fridge, and based on that, we determined our recent vaccine supply increase allows for broader distribution."

Clinics scheduled for elementary school students will continue. The date and time of the vaccination clinic at your child's school can be found at www.lambtonhealth.on.ca. If your child misses their school clinic, they can attend any community flu clinic listed below.
