Wyoming, ON – Writers in transition (WIT) have handed over their original documents and minutes to the Lambton Room, for safe keeping and greater accessibility for the general public.
On the evening of February 19th, 1964, the "Creative Writers" came into being, and many of the original members are still active on a professional level today. The current WIT members consist of young writers right through to the most prolific and published writers, focusing on all aspects of writing - such as poetry, novels, and articles.
"This collection can be added to and expanded at any time when more documents become available and the collection will be protected for future reference here in the Lambton Room," said Laurie McBeth, Lambton Room Historian. "Any other community groups, clubs organizations, or individuals with materials relevant to the history of Lambton County can also contact the Lambton Room to see if their material can be added to the broader archival collection."
Writers in Transition meet every Thursday evening at 8pm in the Mall Road Branch Library. For more information and details about WIT contact Peggy Fletcher at p_fletcher@live.com.
