Second Local H1N1 Confirmed Death

Sarnia, ON – The County of Lambton Community Health Services Department has received lab-confirmation verifying a second H1N1-related death of an area resident admitted to hospital with influenza-like illness.

The 64-year-old Sarnia resident died recently in a Sarnia hospital. No further details will be released about the individual to protect the privacy of the family.

“We extend our condolences to the family and friends of this individual,” says Dr. Chris Greensmith, Medical Officer of Health for Lambton County.

Ontario has recorded 95 H1N1 flu virus-related deaths from April to November 25, 2009.
