Sarnia, ON – The County of Lambton Community Health Services Department is resuming a number of public health programs and services in the New Year, after suspending the programs in November and December in an effort to direct additional staff to the H1N1 flu pandemic response.
Prenatal classes, travel immunization clinics, parent-baby drop in and other programs will resume during the week of Monday, January 4, 2010.
"An important function of public health is having the surge capacity to deal with emergency situations and outbreaks," said Kevin Churchill, Manager of Health Promotion and Program Support. "Our planning required 'all hands on deck' to meet the needs of the community during peak demand, and now staff are looking forward to resuming their usual duties."
