Sarnia, ON – Gallery Lambton invites artists to submit works to LOOK 2010, a bi-annual juried art exhibition which will be featured at Gallery Lambton from March 5 to May 2, 2010.
LOOK is open to artists working in any medium who live in southwestern Ontario and southeastern Michigan. All works must be original, completed in the last 12 months and not previously shown in Lambton County in order to be considered. This year the exhibition has a three person jury:
Marla Botterill is a visual artist based in London, Ontario. Her work explores contemporary figurative painting, drawing, collage and puppetry. She earned her BFA from Queen’s and her MFA from the University of Waterloo. Botterill teaches painting and drawing at Fanshawe College and has served four terms on the Board of Directors at Forest City Gallery, where she currently holds the position of President.
Michael Waterman is a visual and audio artist whose work focuses on sound installation, improvisational performance, and radio art. He studied at the University of Manitoba and at the University of Guelph. Waterman's sound installations have been presented in galleries and festivals throughout Canada and in the United States.
Mindy Bowls is currently the Curatorial Assistant at the Thames Art Gallery in Chatham Ontario. She has experience in exhibition programming, collections and conservation. Bowls has a B.A. in Art History from the University of Guelph.
The jury process is a two step process and the first submission deadline is February 5, 2010. Submission details and key dates are outlined on the entry form which is available at Gallery Lambton; on Facebook; and on the Gallery’s website at www.lclmg.org.
