The World Health Organization reports the most intense transmission of pandemic influenza virus continues to occur in North Africa, South Asia, and in limited areas of Eastern Europe.

Local surveillance efforts continue and the situation will be monitored in cooperation with the Public Health Agency of Canada and the Ontario Ministry of Health.
