Alvinston, ON – Parents with questions about their child's growth and development are invited to attend Parenting Classes for Parents beginning February 23 at the Alvinston Best Start Hub.

The FREE parenting classes, for parents of children aged birth to 18 months, will be held on Tuesday mornings - February 23, March 2 and March 9 - from 9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. in the  Best Start Hub at Brooke Central School, 7989 Brooke Line. Limited child care is available.

“As children grow, so many questions and concerns pop up, and sometimes you don't know where to find the answers," says Jennifer Scott, Public Health Nurse with County of Lambton Child Health and Dental Services Department. "The classes provide active discussions so parents can share information with each other, and talk to a health professional to find answers to their questions."

Topics for each class are usually generated by the parents and may relate to concerns or questions about:

  • Behaviour
  • Sleeping habits
  • Feeding: what foods should they eat
  • Toilet teaching
  • Sibling rivalry
  • Biting
  • Community services/resources

For more information about the classes or to register, call 519 383-8331 ext. 3557 or 1-800-667-1839. For information about available child care, call Alvinston Best Start Hub at 519 847-5165.
