Sarnia, ON – Healthy eating takes time, but for parents on the go, meals need to be quick, simple and delicious, and prepared in minutes, not hours.

On Wednesday, March 3, the County of Lambton Community Health Services Department is hosting A Taste of Healthy Eating, a cooking workshop that will help you plan and enjoy a healthy diet of fruits and vegetables, and decrease your risk of certain types of cancer.

The FREE event, featuring Chef John Needham and Connie Mallette, Registered Dietitian from Community Health Services, will be held in the Real Canadian Superstore Cooking School. There are two sessions, 1:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.  Pre-registration is required, seating is limited.

“The presentations are planned so the audience can watch the chef prepare quick, easy dishes, while informative facts about healthy eating are provided,” says Connie Mallette.   “The featured menu is delicious, simple to prepare and made with affordable foods. Members of the audience will receive sample portions of the dishes prepared."

Nutrition and cancer prevention resources, including the recipe book "Foods That Fight Disease" by Leslie Beck, will be provided. For more information, or to register, call 519 344-2062 ext. 2111, toll free 1-800-387-2882, or email connie.mallette@county-lambton.on.ca.
