Sarnia, ON – The County of Lambton Community Health Services Department is "bringing the farm" to Lansdowne Public School students.
On Thursday, March 11 at 1:30 p.m., Lansdowne School's Student Nutrition Program will celebrate National Nutrition Month, and learn about making healthy food choices with Zekveld's Garden Market, and Simone Edginton, Registered Dietitian with Community Health Services.
Leslie Palimaka, Student Nutrition Co-ordinator for the County of Lambton, says "Students will receive practical information to help them eat well and live well while learning where we get our food. It's so easy to forget where we get our produce, and that's why it's important to remind children that farms in our community provide us with fresh fruits and vegetables."
This year's theme, 'Celebrate Food…from field to table', promotes the value of eating locally grown fruits and vegetables.
