Sarnia, ON - Tobacco use in Sarnia-Lambton is about to get "rocked," again.

On Sunday May 30, to celebrate World No Tobacco Day and to commemorate the removal of Ontario's tobacco "power walls," Youth CHAT (Community Health Action Team) will Rock The Wall from 2 p.m.-6 p.m. at Dow People Place, Centennial Park, Sarnia.

"This event gives us an opportunity to highlight the talents of our peers and to deliver a healthy tobacco-free message to other youth," said Rachel Waller, CHAT member. "Rock the Wall celebrates the great strides that have been made to decrease tobacco-use and create more awareness as we make Sarnia Lambton a healthier community."

The afternoon includes a Rock Band® contest, interactive displays, and dance presentations, capped by Battle of the Bands, a musical duel between six local high school bands.

Since it was first organized in 2008, Rock the Wall has become a fan-favourite and tobacco-free activity for Sarnia-Lambton youth. Last year, more than 300 youth attended the event that highlighted the "deception of the tobacco industry."

For more information about the event, to enter a band, or about tobacco-free living, call the County of Lambton Community Health Services Department at 519 344-2062 ext. 2167 or toll free 1-800-387-2882.
