Sarnia, ON – My Turn Committee presents the sixth annual National Child Day Concert, action packed with a live performance (I Love to Read Magic Show), free book bags filled with goodies, snacks and drinks, and lots of fun!
The concert coincides with National Child Day which commemorates the signing of the Convention on the Rights of the Child treaty. The treaty spells out the basic human rights that children everywhere - without discrimination - have:
- the right to survival;
- to develop to the fullest;
- to protection from harmful influences, abuse and exploitation;
- to participate fully in family, cultural and social life.
The My Turn Committee focuses its efforts on promoting positive parenting in our community through the following themes - “Take Time to Learn, Take Time to Hug, Take Time to Play.” The aim of this event is to encourage families to spend more time together and have fun playing.
The concert will be held at the Sarnia Public Library Auditorium on Saturday, November 20th, 2004. Doors open at 10 a.m. and the show starts at 10:30 a.m. Prices are $2.00 per ticket or $6.00 per family (up to 5 people).
