NOTICE TO WOODLOT OWNERS - COUNTY OF LAMBTON

The County has enacted a new woodlot By-Law 45 of 2003, under the Municipal Act, which is a by-law to prohibit or regulate the destruction or injuring of trees.  The By-law sets our proper forestry practices from the control of the By-law.  Anyone who wishes to remove a wind row, fence row or any portion of a woodlot or undersized trees in a woodlot should make an application to the County of Lambton for an exemption to remove any such trees regulated by By-law 45 of 2003.  Any commercial logger planning to cut trees for purchase or sale shall send a “notice of intent to cut” to the County of Lambton at least 5 days prior to any cutting.

Every person who contravenes the provisions of By-law 45 of 2003, may be charged with an offence under Section 138(1) of the Municipal Act S.O. 2001, c. 25.

Copies of By-Law 45 of 2003 are available at Planning & Development Services of the County of Lambton, 789 Broadway St., Wyoming, ON   N0N 1T0 or by clicking here.
