Motor Coach Tours

The shops, restaurants and Museum are along the St Clair Parkway within 2 blocks and half a block from the Sombra - Marine City Ferry.

Motor Coach Tours are welcome to experience all or any of the elements of Sombra on the St. Clair:

The Sombra Museum

The Sombra Museum consists of a two story Victorian home complete with period furnishing and decor, and mannequins dressed in period costumes as well as a Marine Room, Agricultural & Technology Room, Reference room and a 1830's log cabin in the back yard.

The Historical Walking Tour

The Historical Walking Tour educates the visitor on the cultural, residential and commercial life of the village including the infamous rumrunning heyday.

Boutique Shopping and a Meal

The Village Shops offer a variety of merchandise e.g. clothing, candles, bath assessories,homemade fudge, souvenirs, framed prints, wicker, jewellery, and more!

Visit the Village Restaurants or try homemade luncheon served by the Sombra Township Historical Society in an 1880's Methodist Church

Cruise on the St. Clair River

The 40 person Hammond Bay Cruise Ship highlights the importance of river travel and commerce. The crew narrates interesting facts about shipping the shoreline and the ships you encounter.

The cruise on the Hammond Bay is 1 hour and boards at Leeland Gardens 4 km south of Sombra village ( If your group is larger than 40 persons, consider dividing the group in half. One half the group is participating in the Historical Walking Tour and the Museum while the other half is on the cruise and then switch the halves ).

A Museum tour takes 45-60 minutes. The Historical Walking Tour takes 30-45 minutes. The Sombra Historical Society luncheon features a cold buffet, coffee or tea and dessert.

A Motor Coach tour which includes any of these elements can be designed to fit your interests and time table. Advance booking required. Minimum of 10 persons. Motorcoach driver and tour co-ordinator are complimentary. Available mid- June through September.
